On DRM and Music Piracy...

In the 18th century, the Vatican had its own music. It was forbidden for anyone but the Vatican choir to see or perform the 'written' music. In other words, the Vatican controlled who was allowed to play or listen to the music.

Along came a fourteen year old visitor to the Vatican. After only listening to the music, he went home and wrote it down. By writing down the more than 10 voices from his memory, the first 'illegal copy' of music was made.

That fourteen year old visitor was Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
